The merge script should verify, that

• no pipeline in source branch is running
• that the latest pipeline in the source branch succeeded

GitLab considers this a bug and they're working on it, see https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/384927

Let's wait and see what GitLab comes up with.
